Sugaring Hair Removal
Sugaring is an ancient middle-eastern hair removal technique that uses an all-natural paste or gel. The recipe made from food-derived ingredients like sugar, water, and lemon juice removes the hair follicle right from the root for long-lasting, smooth, hair free skin. The results can even last up to six weeks.
While there are many recipes, only natural ingredients are used in our safe and effective sugaring hair removal Adelaide treatments. Visible Changes only use organic products, so you will be treated to these beautiful, all-natural ingredients when receiving your sugaring hair removal Adelaide treatment with us.
How Does Sugaring Work?
The two types of sugaring, using either a paste or gel, are performed differently.
The sugaring paste, considered the traditional technique, is a warmed thick mixture that is applied first in the opposite direction of hair growth and then in the direction of hair growth using the hands. The hair removal technique is then performed by flicking off the paste in the direction of the hair growth.
The gel on the other hand is performed similarly to waxing. The mixture is applied in the direction of hair growth and then removed in the opposite direction.
The Visible Changes staff are highly experienced and trained in both methods of sugaring. It will depend on your specific needs as to what method will be used.
The Benefits of Sugaring
There are many benefits to sugaring that are becoming more and more recognised as this hair removal treatment becomes more popular. In fact, large amounts of hair can be taken out at once and can be finished even faster than waxing.
With most waxing treatments, you have to apply the wax to a limited area and remove, then go to the next area and remove, and so forth… With sugaring you can speed things up by applying the paste to a very large area because it won’t dry out, even if you take it off in smaller sections. Sugaring can also be performed on much shorter hair than traditional waxing methods.
Sugaring has an incredibly easy clean up as well. Both the paste and gel are water soluble, meaning you can clean off any residue left on the skin with plain water, unlike regular wax.
Sugar paste can be applied over missed hairs too. The paste is very gentle and can be put straight over an area that was just sugared but missed some hairs, without fear of much irritation.
Plus, temporary results can turn into permanent hair removal as frequent sugaring can cause the hair follicle to become damaged, and stop growing hair all together!
